This website is dedicated to the village of Spreyton and has been funded and run each year through fundraising within the village.
The main aim of this website is to inform the villagers and members of surrounding villages all about Spreyton and the events held in the village both past, present and in the future. So if you know of anything that has happened, is happening or is due to happen then please use the 'Contact' form on this website so that it can be shared with everyone. This website is run by the village for the village.
Every four months 'The Spreyton Flyer' is produced and circulated around the village. This flyer contains all you need to know about Spreyton, what has happened since the last flyer and what is coming up over the next few of months.

We now have a defibrillator in our village, kindly donated by Viv Bennet and Bob Unsworth and the local community. It is located in the car park of The Tom Cobley Tavern secured on the wall under the fire escape.
We now have a village map which can be accessed to find any house or farm within the village and outlying areas. This will be of great help in case of an emergency and to many local couriers who struggle to locate houses and farms in Spreyton. Many thanks to the Spreyton Parish Council, especially Keith and Des for all their hard work in putting this together.

"The Flower Show" is the oldest event held in the Village. We have schedules which date back to the 1950's. Although it is named flower show, it is so much more than this. There are of course classes for flowers and these range from pansies, specimen roses through to the majestic blooms of dahlias and gladioli spikes. The vegetable section is a whole array of varying vegetables which always look so amazing and perfectly formed.
For the younger members of the village there is a junior cooking class for the 10 - 17 year olds and also a children's section which this year is a picture of an animal and also a model of an animal made from recycled materials. For the older ones 12-15 the topic is "a Doodle for Spreyton"
A preserve section, this year covers, BBQ sauce, jams, chutneys, marmalade and jellies.
A home-made wine section for red, white or rose wine. Together with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Finally we have a cookery and handicraft section (and this is not restricted to ladies only)!
You can enter eggs, from your own chickens of course and then cookery ranging from pastry, sponge, fruit cake and bread making through to a cheesecake.
Make a greetings card, enter a photo which this years' theme is "a wedding photo not for the Album", knitting, tapestry and then there is the opportunity for various flower arrangements from a teacup and saucer through to a 24in display.
Our final class is for the Gardening Club which is an Alan Titchmarsh Fuchsia.
The whole event is held in the village hall and In addition to the items is there will be side stalls. including the sale of produce, a bottle stall and tombola a draw and delicious teas being served during the afternoon. For the children there will be a bouncy castle and sports.
The Tennis Court will be open and available for those who would like to have game and the Village Shop will also be open for ice creams and to show off their extensive range of produce they have available.
This year we are planning to make it a real SHOW CASE of the whole village not only for people to show off what they produce but also the facilities we have available . For a small village we are so lucky to have the hall, the Shop the Tennis Court, Children's play area and the Cricket Club.
So, as you can see there is something for everyone and it would be wonderful if we could get more children to enter as they are of course the future of the Show. Schedules are available from the Shop, The Tom Cobley and Sharon Hawking 01647 231 369 or email@example.com
The next Flower Show took place on Saturday 20th August 2016, so keep your eyes peeled for more information and get growing and practicing for 2017 when the Flower Show will be held on Saturday 19th August.
